Our History
• Kansas City Lodge No. 220 was issued its charter by the Grand Lodge of Missouri on May 30th, 1861
making us the oldest Lodge in Kansas City, Missouri.
• Our first Worshipful Master was also the first Mayor of Kansas City, William S. Gregory, for whom
Gregory Blvd in Kansas City, Missouri is named.
• Our first meeting place was at Oldham's Hall on 3rd and Walnut Streets.
• John B. Wornall, for whom Wornall Rd is named, began his Masonic journey in our Lodge. He was Initiated on St. Patrick's Day, March 17th, 1865.
• The first cement pavement in Kansas City was laid by a brother of the Lodge: Andrew J. Middleton.
• On April 26th, 1909, the Grand Lodge of Missouri issued us a duplicate charter, the original having been destroyed in a fire.
• We have been meeting in our current location at the historic Kansas City Scottish Rite Temple since
October 2013.
